The process is as follows. The cushioning is opened and laid flat. Then it is folded according to the perforations already present in the material, the fold lines built in for structural reasons, which turn out also to be useful for this purpose. You do not impose a new fold on the material. You find the fold that is already there. This is a principle HowHow applies in other areas also.

Pages are gathered from the folded sheets and bound on a Singer sewing machine from 1903. It was made the same year humans really began flying. The machine continues to function with minimal maintenance intervention from Cyborg, which is noted with respect. It was functioning before HowHow arrived and will continue functioning after. There is something worth observing about objects that outlast the contexts they were made for and simply continue doing the thing they do. The 1903 Singer is one of those objects.
